  • January 8, 7:30 p.m.: Club Meeting

    It's a Double-Bonus January!

John, K6MM, will speak about his No-Excuses 160 Meter Vertical—essentially a rubber duckie for 160 m. It was published in the June 2009 issue of QST. You can build this antenna and take advantage of the rest of top-band season!

And, it's Home-Brew Night: Bring a project to the club meeting and show it to the rest of the group. It doesn't have to be built completely from scratch, just something that you have been working on.

  • February 5, 7:30 p.m.: Club Meeting

    Huge Auction!

Already on the auction block are brand new-in-box radios and test equipment, batteries and solar chargers, and LOTS MORE!

Here's a great opportunity to help your favorite club (no, not that other one!) raise some money, and keep your annual dues down in the process. (You DID pay your dues, didn't you?)

    DONATIONS:

If you would like to donate one or more *valuable* items, new or slightly used, please COME EARLY to the club meeting (preferably 7:00-7:15 p.m.).

Your equipment will be evaluated by our official "Gong Committee" to see if it is worth putting up for auction. If they believe it has real value and will benefit the club, it goes on the block. If not, you get "The Gong" and the joy of taking your junk back home with you. This is not an e-waste disposal event!

    BUYERS, BUYERS, BUYERS!!

This is your opportunity to get some GREAT DEALS on radios, cables, test equipment, and more. Equipment will be sold to the highest bidder, with NO RESERVE!! If you have a good eye for gear and a fast hand in the air, you get the best deal in town. No eBay-last-second-steal-it-out-from-under-you nonsense!

We're not talking about some wussy "silent auction"—bidding will be live, hot, fast-paced, in real-time on the open floor (Action, action, ACTION!!)—from your favorite auctioneer, Rich "Sold, Sold, Sold!" Seifert (KE1B).

Bring your wallet (filled) or your checkbook (balanced). We guarantee it won't be that way at the end of the night! No credit cards, no equipment swaps, no offers of services-in-exchange-for-goods. IOUs only with suitable collateral, such as your first-born child or North Korean QSL card.

    Money talks, NOBODY walks!

Remember, ALL PROCEEDS go directly into the club's general fund. This will allow us to have more and better food at Field Day, neat prizes for the summer picnic, and low, low dues for years to come.

DO NOT MISS THIS MEETING!! THIS IS THE BIG ONE!!

  • March 5, 7:30 p.m.: Club Meeting – QRP with Bill Craig

Our special guest will be Bill Craig, of Craig Ocean Systems, a small home-based engineering and manufacturing firm in Ben Lomond. While he isn't currently a ham, he was one in his youth (until a stint in the Air Force forced him away from transmitters).

Today he loves collecting QRP rigs. He will be bringing in a fraction of his collection and discussing the various radios.

So if you like small radios, efficient operating, or just a chance to view some recent radio history, please come down and join us!
