Join us this Friday for an exciting presentation by Stanford research scientist Monica G. Bobra: The effects of the Sun on the Earth’s ionosphere and how that affects radio communications. Monica Bobra has researched the sun for over a decade using the Hinode XRT , TRACE, and SDO space-based solar telescopes. She has devised new mechanisms for predicting solar activity, she has designed flight operations for space-based solar telescopes, and she has developed data visualizations about the sun for magazines and art exhibitions, among many other achievements. Her presentation should interest both radio amateurs and amateur astronomers.
